Amir Nematipour has been named Food & Beverage Director of Four Seasons Resort Lanai, overseeing all food and beverage operations for the Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond Hawaiian resort.
Nematipour was recently promoted to the role from his position of Executive Chef at the oceanfront property. Prior to Lanai, he served in several kitchens in Los Angeles, including Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, along with hotels in the Middle East and Europe.
“We are so pleased to welcome Amir into this role, a new chapter for him,” says Alastair McAlpine, General Manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lanai. “His culinary positions have provided valuable experience delivering high-level, luxury service to restaurants as well as for social occasions such as group events and festive weddings. We look forward to seeing him leverage his creativity and keen management skills to develop innovative experiences and a strong team on property.”
A graduate of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and the city’s Horeca Academie, Nematipour is fluent in Dutch, English, Farsi and is pursuing Spanish.
Born in Tehran and raised in Amsterdam, Nematipour’s passion for food first began at the age of five when his grandmother exposed him to Persian cuisine. By the age of 16, inspired by his grandmother’s tutelage and the varied epicurean landscape of Amsterdam, he knew he wanted a career in culinary arts. Upon graduation from the International Cooking School and his Hospitality Management degree in Amsterdam, Nematipour launched a career in hotels.
