What tech stories do hoteliers read? Softscribe Inc. reports.
Atlanta – June 11, 2015 – Softscribe Inc., an award winning Atlanta-based technology public relations firm, will attend the 43rd annual HITEC conference, June 15 to 18 in Austin, Texas, with a group of its best-in-class technology company clients.
"Of the almost 100 benefit-oriented press releases and stories we created for our clients since last year's HITEC, hoteliers most read the pieces about mobile, brands and technology insights," said Julie Keyser-Squires, CEO of Softscribe Inc. "Hoteliers are eager to learn about the technology their guests demand, and hear what their peers are doing."
Hoteliers Ask: "How Do I Choose a Solid Tech Provider?"
"Technology providers, especially those exhibiting at HITEC for the first time, can tune their messages to benefits that address hoteliers' top tech challenges," Squires said.
For hotel attendees, and tech vendors exhibiting at HITEC 2015, Squires shares these 4 best practices that hoteliers can consider before a technology buy:
- Identify strong technology partners by talking to their clients.
- Cultivate industry editors and influencers for objective insights.
- Look over the horizon at emerging technologies; Are they appropriate for your operation?
- Talk to your property's team. Before you make a tech decision, decide what you really need.
Squires believes one segment hoteliers need to address is millennial guests. Millennials are driving new operating processes, design standards, and security.
"66% of U.S. hotel guests are between the ages of 18 and 48. The bulk of these – 33% – are called Millennials or Gen Y. They are between the ages of 24 and 36*, and operate out of the palm of their hand," Squires explained.
