WICKENBURG, ARIZ. (September 4, 2024) – Rancho de los Caballeros, a historic, family-owned dude ranch, announces today the promotion of Robert Cornett to executive chef. In this new role, he will manage the three on-site restaurants, direct all front- and back-of-house kitchen staff, and lead development of the ranch’s innovative culinary programming like the Desert CookoutsRanch Reserve: Wine Evenings at 19 and the annual Guest Chef Series.

Cornett joined Rancho de los Caballeros in 2022 as the executive sous chef. Over the last two years, he has significantly contributed to the operations of the Main Dining Room—a ranch-style, all-day restaurant—and the Club Grill—an all-American-style grill within the Los Caballeros Golf Club. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in the development and launch of 19, a new upscale dining venue introduced to the ranch late last year. Now managing all dining venues, Cornett aims to enhance the property’s Southwest and Americana cuisine with seasonal, vegetable-focused menu improvements and elevated smoker techniques.

“Having been a part of the team here at Rancho de los Caballeros for over two years, I couldn’t be more honored and excited for what is in store in this new role,” said Cornett. “Whether it’s offering fine dining at 19 or hosting cookouts in the Yucca Flats, there’s always room for creativity and providing our guests with unique experiences that will keep them returning year after year.”

With nearly two decades of industry experience, Cornett has built an impressive career in hospitality, holding key positions at renowned Arizona resorts, including Canyon Ranch and CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa. At Canyon Ranch, he spent over 12 years refining his craft and resort management skills, quickly advancing to the role of chef de cuisine within his first six months. Previously an auto mechanic, Cornett discovered his passion for cooking from watching The Food Network, spurring a transition into the culinary world. He dove into the industry by working at three restaurants simultaneously, ranging from a sports bar to a vegan concept.

Beyond its diverse culinary destinations, Rancho de los Caballeros offers 9,000 square feet of event space, 13,300 acres of horse-accessible trails and a plethora of recreational pursuits such as archery, trap and skeet shooting, championship golf, ATV tours, spa services and more. Boasting unmatched views and refined resort accommodations, guests are invited to live out a ranch lifestyle and tap into their inner cowboy while surrounded by the Sonoran Desert.
