Turks & Caicos property The Palms welcomes Ricardo Carvalho De Matos, as the resort’s newest Director of Food & Beverage. 

With over 22 years of experience in hotel-based restaurants, Ricardo brings a wealth of industry knowledge and hands-on expertise to the award-winning, 72-suite luxury resort located on Grace Bay Beach. Prior to joining The Palms, Ricardo oversaw F&B operations for resorts including: Six Senses Resort & Spa and the property’s seven outlets as well as its culinary team of 80 members, prior to that he was responsible for five outlets as well as room and butler service for Azulik, Hotel Boutique Resort & Spa in Cancun. Ricardo also has international experience as restaurant manager for 1 Michelin Star Hakkasan Group, 2 Michelin Star Vila Joya Gourmet Hotel, and 3 Michelin Star Santi Santimari, to name a few of his endeavors as well as Michelin Star Events and trainings.

In this role, he will oversee all food and beverage operations at The Palms, in addition to managing the various restaurants, bar teams, in-room dining, and personal chefs, at the property’s multiple culinary venues including: 72°WestL’Attitude Bar, The Garden, and Parallel23, which was named “Turks & Caicos Restaurant of the Year” at the island’s STAR awards several years in a row, and has won Best Conch Chowder at the island’s Conch Festival.

When he’s not in the office, you can find Ricardo reading, cooking, swimming, scuba diving, or tasting excellent wines.
